Ukrtelecom
Ukrtelecom is one of the leading national telecom operators providing a full gamut of modern telecommunication services in all parts of Ukraine.
Ukrtelecom operates across Ukraine (except the Crimea and the non-government controlled areas of Donetsk Oblast).
Current status
On 1 March 2017, Ukrtelecom was forced to stop services in the non-government controlled areas of Donetsk Oblast because of interference with its network and armed takeover of its office.
The operator cannot centrally manage its equipment in the non-government controlled areas of Donetsk Oblast. As a result, the company disconnected the local lines from the national network. Almost 200,000 people lost access to Internet and telephone services. For more details, please go to: http://www.scm.com.ua/ru/media-centre/news/view/2589/
The hostilities in Donbas have damaged Ukrtelecom’s infrastructure, which prevented the company from providing telecom services to residents of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts. Employees are repairing and reconstructing the facilities if it is safe enough for their lives and health. Employees’ health and safety are Ukrtelecom’s top priority. Therefore Ukrtelecom takes every effort to ensure safe working conditions for the specialists recovering communications lines.
