Our businesses in Donetsk and Lugansk oblasts that give jobs to more than 120,000 people have been seriously damaged from the fighting in Donbas. Regular shelling has destroyed the region’s infrastructure and affected the economy of both Donbas and Ukraine – a sharp drop in GDP, a significant decline in tax revenues to the national budget and increased social tensions as a consequence.
Every day SCM Group does its utmost to maintain normal operations of its companies, keep jobs and pay salaries. We are helping damaged towns and villages to rebuild residential houses, schools and hospitals, restore power, heat and water supply and re-establish telephone connection.
Some of SCM Group’s businesses were forced to suspend work in certain areas of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts. A few of them have resumed operations, while others got out of SCM Group’s control.
