Thanks to joint efforts of Joint Centre for Control and Coordination, OSCE, the Emergency Ministry and personal involvement of the governor Pavlo Zhebrivskyi, DTEK power engineers have recovered one electricity line Makiivka 2 – Avdiivka Coke and reconnected Avdiivka town and Donetsk water purification station to power.
Humanitarian issues relating to electricity and water supplies have been solved, repairs are underway by the town teams and the Emergency Ministry.
Avdiivka Coke is still mothballed. It is not technically possible to restart the second part of the plant with Main Step-down Substation 1, as the jumper on Substation 2 can transmit no more than 10 MW.
There isn’t enough coke gas to heat the town and the coke oven batteries at the same time. The expected severe weather can cause serious problems both for us and the town.
We hope that DTEK power engineers will be given an opportunity to repair the second input.
It must be clearly understood that one input (of four) for the town, the plant and the water purification station is absolutely not enough considering constant hostilities in the area.
