DTEK power engineers have restored power supply to Verkhniokalmiuska water filtration plant…

On 3 February, DTEK specialists have again been attempting to restore electricity supply to Avdiivka, Avdiivka Coke and Chemicals Plant and Donetsk water filtration plant. Today three DTEK teams consisting of 29 power engineers have had to stop repair works because of shelling threats.

At 7:50, the teams in Avdiivka received a “green corridor” and left to a repair site. The power engineers were accompanied by EOD specialists of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and OSCE monitors. At 8:20, the servicemen warned of any advance because of shelling risks. Repair teams had to come back to the base.

“Every day DTEK engineers risk their lives to bring electricity back to de-energised Avdiivka and neighbouring villages. Three teams of high voltage specialists are again attempting to restore power lines during short periods of “green corridors”. Rinat Akhmetov has tasked DTEK, Metinvest and the Humanitarian Center to do everything they can to prevent a humanitarian catastrophe in Avdiivka and nearby,” Ihor Maslov, Electricity Distribution and Sales Director of DTEK Energy, stated.

Since the complete power outage in Avdiivka on 30 January, DTEK engineers are on 24/7 duty, always ready to go to damage sites and repair lines.
