Avdiivka Coke (AKHZ) of Metinvest Group is continuing to rebuild the central municipal hospital, replacing electric wiring in medical departments.
The repairs are taking place in the obstetrics and gynecology building where most services of the hospital are based now. Heavily damaged by shelling, the main building is temporarily mothballed.
The plant has bought all materials and supplies: wires, cables, sockets, switches, lighting panels, etc. Thanks to Avdiivka Coke’s efforts, units of intensive care, surgery, internal medicine, neurology and traumatology as well as a laboratory are now fully operational.
“From the very first days of the fighting, the plant took the hospital under patronage: many times we have installed windows, repaired the roof, provided oxygen and petrol for power generators and medical vehicles, bought surgical sutures and necessary medications,” said AKHZ CEO Musa Mahomedov. “We set an objective to revitalise Avdiivka town. It is impossible to do without timely medical services. Therefore, the plant’s employees have done their utmost to help the central municipal hospital offer a full range of services to residents,” he added.
Earlier the plant also restored an outdoor heating pipeline of the medical establishment. Moreover, they helped to overhaul water and heating supply systems as well as waste water pipes in a basement of the maternity home. Metinvest has committed UAH 1.5bn to rebuild Avdiivka municipal hospital.
