Avdiivka Coke operating under the umbrella of Metinvest Group has repaired 12 social facilities and 34 apartment buildings. Construction materials were provided to 135 owners of single-family homes. The company already allocated UAH 18 million to repair the social and residential infrastructure of Avdiivka.
The funds were used to repair external walls, load-bearing walls, facades, floor and ceiling slabs, as well as to install room dividers and window units in 28 apartment buildings. Also, the company repaired the roofs in six houses damaged by shelling. Over 1,500 families will enjoy warm houses in winter due to the help of Avdiivka Coke.
The company has fully repaired the central hospital, two schools, two kindergartens, a musical school, an evening school, the centre for children’s art, the community centre, and the centre for innovation and development. In addition, it overhauled the pump station supplying drinking water to the town residents.
Right now the company is completing repairs of five apartment buildings and the roofs in
14 residential houses. In the short term, Avdiivka workers will be rebuilding the houses at Vorobiova and Molodizhna streets which have been seriously damaged by shelling. Today the specialists are trying to analyse and estimate the damages.
Just recently, Avdiivka workers have started repairing one more school and are conducting preparation works in one more kindergarten.

“The ceasefire has given us a possibility to carry out restoration works and help thousands of families to have a roof over their head again. But we still have much work to do. Unfortunately, we cannot do everything as quickly as we want because we lack contractors. We decided to conduct outdoor works before the cold weather: we are repairing roofs and facades. If we protect the buildings from rain and cold, we’ll be able to continue repairs inside the buildings. In addition, we have completed one more very important objective: our thermal power facility supplies heat to almost all apartment buildings in Avdiivka”.
