Since early 2016, Metinvest Group’s Avdiivka Coke (AKHZ) has completed restoration of 18 high-rise buildings damaged by shelling.
The plant reconstructed facades, exterior and bearing walls, and re-installed partition walls, stair flights, floor and ceiling slabs and windows in 16 multi-storey buildings and replaced frozen central heating pipes in two residential buildings. Around 1,200 families live in warm and cosy apartments thanks to Avdiivka Coke’s help.
AKHZ General Director Musa Magomedov:
“We continue to cooperate closely with local utility companies and work for the future of Avdiivka and its residents. But we still have much to do. We are working as a team, and we will certainly succeed. The most important thing is to establish a long-awaited peace that will bring many locals back home.”
In 2015, tasked by Metinvest’s major shareholder Rinat Akhmetov, Avdiivka Coke rebuilt 69 multi-storey buildings, 135 private homes and 15 social facilities. Investments made UAH 18 million.
